Happy Oct-Ogre to you all, and most importantly? Happy Halloween-ween!
Every year I do a specific story for this holiday, and for the past few years, it’s been Poe.
This year, with 2016 being so bizarre all the way around, I thought I’d dip into my own mental archives and do a story I’ve been *wanting* to do for a while now, but haven’t.
This story, in particular, is a favorite of mine and has been since the first time I read it (’round about my Sophomore year in High School) as part of the required AP English reading for the year. It’s hauntingly well written, gets into your head, and won’t let go.
Because what’s more frightening, really, than watching someone you love go a little mad?
… Perhaps peering into the mind of the one slowly losing her grip on reality.
Enjoy this Halloween-ween offering, my lovelies!
